Blogriffic update about all the crap i'm trying to do.

beware of the valley comic:
not much going on here, spencer is hopefully writing or atleast occasionally thinking about things when he isn't busy making rhymes and doing whatever else it is he does. but still really psyched about the whole thing.

DollarDoodles: not sure if i ever mentioned this on here, but it's a site i'm working on where people donate a dollar and suggest something they'd like to be seen drawn and choose one of the various artists i've talked into participating. i'm looking for maybe a January big reveal thing... and then i hopefully start spamming the world with it, because it seems like it would be fun..

Monster Making: this is a direct result as my brief time as a pseudo cosplayer, and the fairly awesome pumpkin monster i made for this Toronto zombie walk, in which i received the prize from Dusk Toronto for best zombie (not that skill really entered into it, as it was strictly a "get as many people to like this picture as possible" kind of contest.. but i still feel i deserved it)
and i will be trying to make more monster heads/costumes, and the lovely casey cunningham is going to take some (Awesome i'm sure) pictures. theres no real goal to this one i just

"beware of the valley" the comic?! And fanex day 1

FANEX has arrived, which means im going to once again spend way too much money, stare at celebrities from a nice distance, do a whole lot of walking around and leaving with the mindset of "i could do this"

wasn't a terribly exciting first day, did get a TP signed copy of TEUTON from "Fearless" Fred Kennedy And Adam Gorham (they even added in a free sketch.. although i don't think Adam was psyched about it... and then asked my to scan and email the scan to him.)


Which is pretty sweet. Makes me wish I was better at inking.

which reminds me, i'm working on a possible comic with Spencer Butt, which may end up being a weird comedy/horror/superpowers thing... he hasn't really told me much about his thoughts on story... so i don't know yet...
but i do have a few really quick character sketches of possible character concepts. (see below)

I'm also going to be posting any and all progress and updates on here as it comes up.

hooray for me! i've had some time to sit, and a brand new pencil... and a notebook for work.. which ... much like in school.. is often not used for work..

so anyway here are a few of my choooice doodles from todays selection...

because you all love to see them... and their fresh from the notebook taste..

this is something i've been thinking about, is a series of comics based on movie lines being used in awkward or terrible or just inappropriate ways... and I feel they might all be will smith based.. because thats just the kind of mood i'm in.

and this i could never really decide if it's a rat, or a fox, or some weird mix.. FATROX

like most things i draw they really have no backstory... *shrug* i'll get me one of them writers one day..

Oh hey Brog Readers (which statistics tell me is one person in Australia on a mac who i think came for the picture of fables in my last post) . Its two days after A.N and i'm feeling inspired/tired/socially withdrawn already. I didn't end up finishing my Argo Kindu Costume, but got enough done that i will not just be scrapping it... so hopefully i get the energy to drag it over to Fanex... and if not that.. well i'll have a bitchin halloween costume. And the Fail up above was a rather quick attempt at a silly buisness attire Kodama from princess mononoke.

it's redeeming features being that it made the rattle noises and glowed in the dark...

Didn't take many pictures this weekend except for our costume scavenger hunt... my favourite being this one


WOO MISO COSPLAY. and ms.Vivi being a lovely Tink.

And my friends Tracy And Lauren excelled once again in the art of costume making and took home a nice piece of paper and ribbon for Artisan Detail... their costumes are viewable here which is Tracys Blog which you should all be reading anyway.

FREE COMIC BOOK DAY... and other things..

free comic book day was pretty sweeeet. especially since i haven't bought comics in forever.. AND LOOK AT ME NOW BWAHAHAHAHAH *rolls around throwing comics in the air*



i increased my collection by maybe 23 comics... most of those being deadpool and spider-man... because i like to peak in on those comics every once and a while... but there's a few others i picked up, that if you don't read them you should.

Fables.
I just picked up the latest fables tp, and it's still going fairly strong. And usually i don't like anything that gets pushed on me by several clerks at a various stores but this time i guess they were right. So pick it up if you're into a darker but still cute take on all your fable favourites...

WHAT DOROTHY AND ALICE? TOGETHER AT LAST? (and possibly susan from narnia and wendy from peter pan) SHARING AN APARTMENT? GIANT MULTI-DIMENSIONAL WARS?
how could I not read it.
I appreciate this on story and knowledge of obscure oz references alone.. the art..didn't really do it for me...
